I was a little worried having read some negative reviews about the ship and service. However, our experience was all positive. Sure, you can always find a little something to complain about, but the good so far outweighs any minor annoyance! This ship is H U G E and yes, there are 4000 people on board, but very rarely did we have to make our way through a crowd, wait for an elevator or wait to eat or drink at the bars. If one place looked too busy, there were a dozen other choices! One of the best buffets I've ever experienced and I typically do not like buffets at all (reminds me of leftovers or pot lucks). Well stocked, plenty of selection--we actually enjoyed the buffet more than the dining rooms because we wanted to spend time playing, not eating.
We had a balcony room that was plentiful in size for 2 of us and had no issues with noise, smell, etc. Our room steward(ess?) didn't have a great deal of personality, but she was efficient and effective. The bed was hard. I like a firm mattress. this bed was HARD. But we didn't ask for a pillow top as I had read some folks did, so that may have helped. We just drank a little more to sleep a little sounder LOL
Every single bar waiter we had (ahem, there were many), was attentive, friendly and competent. The crowds at the Atrium during the various games/events were massive and would probably be better accommodated in the theater, but the large screen helped make sure everyone could see what was going on. People need to learn manners, and everything works out. The shows and comedy were outstanding--really! Costumes and originality top notch. Make your reservations when you can before you sail, and for those you can't there are options to do so at the box office or on the TV in your stateroom.....people should research things before they get on the ship and then complain.
plenty of space, lots of hangers, large bathroom, lots of storage. only complain was how hard the bed was.
we actually just booked the ferry to Placencia from the HC island and our time in Placencia was excellent! Harvest Caye was a bit of a disappointment--that sand is awful to walk on! just seemed too "commercial" and man made overall.
