The food was good quality and the drinks were tasty. Specifically the hotdogs and pizza were the best I have had on any cruise ship. There was plenty of seating on the decks, the rooms were clean, and the ship was kept clean and organized. The disembarking and embarking were the easiest and fastest that I have ever had on any cruise. The Crown Grill had one of the best steaks I have ever had. Planks BBQ was just average barbeque, but this is coming from a Kansas City person where barbeque is life. Now it is time for some downsides. Drinks were reasonably priced, but all drinks had a 15% gratuity added to them. I do not like to be forced to pay a gratuity because our servers didn't have to provide good service since they would be getting an automatic tip. Sometimes the dining staff was not pleasant and I could not hear them because they just seemed unhappy and uniterested in serving us. There was not a lot of entertainment choices and not a lot of activities like you see on other ships. If you want a ship that is layed back with few parties and little entertainment, then this cruise is for you. If you want a party cruise with excitement and plenty of activities, this is not a ship for you. This ship also has no special deals. Other cruises I have been on have buy one get one reduced price deals on restaurants, jewelry, cologne, or bottles of booze. There have also been reduced drink packages like on Royal Caribbean, but there were none on Princess. This ship also has a lot of "wasted" space. What I mean by this is that where there could have been another bar, a rock wall, a play area, a miniature putting course, a hot tub, etc., they simply put chairs, or just left the area free of anything. Another bad decision this cruise staff made was putting popular shows or entertainment activities in the smaller lounges or venues. The love and marriage game show which is always popular on a cruise ship was done in one of the smaller lounges instead of the theater.
