This was our second Viking cruise, and it certainly will not be the last. We ended up choosing this particular cruise because of the tremendous value that was offered with the cruise itself. free air, the excellent pre-trip itinerary, an indebt, hands on exploration into French winemaking and culture through their free daily excursions.

This was not our first Viking river cruise BUT, it was our first "Long Boat " experience. I can truly say that we were both very impressed with the cabin, the boats amenities, the food, and, most importantly, the receptive and caring staff. We are both retired and over 50. It was a joy to vacation with people our age and not have to worry about youngsters' running about! This truly is not a cruise with children in mind.

Although we did not travel far, Viking did a great job in providing a different experience while in each port of call. In particular, we enjoyed the "special" off ship dinning experience at a local chateau, as well as offering an excursion (at an extra cost) to Camus, one of the premier cognac producers in the world, which concluded with each of us receiving our own blended bottle of XO cognac.....outstanding!!
