I chose this ship because I wanted a short, intermittent cruise and because Liberty had the eatery Mongolian Wok on board. This was my 34th cruise and although I'm a Diamond level cruiser on Royal Caribbean, I'm a Platinum member with Carnival. I usually sail Solo but this time invited a friend to go with me.

I don't understand the negative reviews about Liberty. This was my 1st time on Liberty and I didn't see what the naysayers were griping about. Liberty was tastefully decorated, very well maintained, and kept clean at all times. I found the staff to be super friendly, unlike other ships I've sailed. Even the Guest Services staff was polite and friendly. And I found my inside cabin (I usually book a Balcony cabin) to be quite roomy. I enjoyed the comedy show, Violin Duet, live bands and piped music. But most of all I was elated to see that Carnival hired yet another young, engaging, energetic and fun Cruise Director, Tiven (sp?), who was only on the job four days. He did an excellent job. Three years ago I met cruise director Matt on The Brreze, who was my first experience with a young cruise director. Way to go Carnival! I really did have fun.

The reason for the 4-star rating - Buffet food was not impressive and vegetables were sorely lacking. I did not bother eating anywhere else. There were five ships in port at Nassau, which made for a very hot and crowded scene. I got back on the ship almost as quickly as I got off. Freeport was much more civilized.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4D

Inside cabin on Lido Deck was roomier than I expected and larger than other rooms I've been in. Well kept and cleaned twice a day. Cabin attendant was friendly and attentive.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Parking @ Port Canaveral Pier - Charges $17.00 per day for five (5) days, for a 4-day cruise (parked less than 96 Hours).

Freeport

I've been to Freeport many times, so did not take an excursion.

Nassau

Five ships in port that day. Way too crowded.
