We picked beause of itinerary. Have been on bus trip to area before and wanted to try something different. We took an Avalon river cruise a couple years earlier and the entertinment was better along with talks about upcoming areas (this is not meant to mean cruise port talk for the next day). What I mean is a history talk. Also the speed of dining service decreased as the second week began. Being seatd at 7:00 and not being served until 9:00 seemed slow. Also the food choice was much better on the two week cruise in France. They need to keep the dining closed until the proper time. After sitting at the same table every day for a week, some people must have liked it and were going into the dining room 20 minutes before opening to get the table we always sat at. One person would leave the port talk early and hold or reserve the entire table for six. I at least thought it was open seating and when trying to sit with the one person they became nasty.
