Overall, this was a very nice, short getaway for a birthday celebration. Just me, and my wife, no kiddos.

We came out of Port Canaveral, which I had never sailed from before. We stayed the night ahead at the Radisson Resort at the Port. A very nice hotel for a quick stay. Pool area looked fantastic, but we didn't have time to really enjoy it. Looked very cool though.

QUICK TIP: When choosing your transportation method to get over there from Orlando Intl Airport, there are a lot of options. Uber, Lyft, private shared ride shuttles, Cruiseline shuttles, etc. We flew in the night before and chose to do a one-way car rental from the airport, dropping off in Cocoa the next morning. It ended up being about the same price as an Uber, and less than the cost of the cruiseline shuttle for 2 of us. Plus then we had the freedom to hit Target in the morning for last minute stuff and a couple bottles of wine. We did the same thing on the way back too, so we could enjoy a day in Orlando.

Cabin Review

Porthole

Cabin PT

Good little room. Loved the little windows. Loved saving a few bucks over a normal Oceanview room. (Actually categorized as an upgraded Interior room).

A bit noisy in this part of the ship though. Really heard the waves slapping the hull of the ship. LOUD. Woke my wife up several times. I slept okay through it.

But if you are a lighter sleeper, you may want to avoid this location.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Port was easy in and out. Lots of hotel options and Park n Ride option around in Cocoa Beach.

Save a little money if you come in the day before and rent a one-way car rental from the airport and have the freedom to hit the store in the morning, take a stroll on the beach, or buy your carry-on wine while you can. Was cheaper for just the 2 of us. If you group is bigger, your savings could be HUGE over the cruiseline's shuttle service.

Nassau

Nassau is OK. The exciting stuff is over at Atlantis, and its pretty pricey.

We enjoyed Junkanoo Beach, right near the port. 5 minute walk or so. Clean water, pretty well tended beach area. VERY clean restroom and changing facilities.

Good shopping for expensive stuff. Straw market is all junk and very annoying.

Nice spot for a few beers just about 2 block up the street from the port to the right. Pirate Republic Brewery. Cool spot, decent beers, relaxed hangout spot for a couple suds and some FREE WIFI.

Bahamas Cookin Kitchen was a tasty restaurant that had a lot of locals eating there, Always a good sign. And I was not disappointed. Get the Conch Fritters. Definitely get Rice n Peas for a side.
