We chose this cruise because of its itinerary. I do not like to island hop so we though New England and Canada would be a good experience and for the most part it was. The ship is clean and nice our cabin was a good size and always kept neat and tidy by out cabin attendant. Entertainment on board was excellent especially the Royal Caribbean Orchestra. Service was good.

Dining is where it started to go wrong. We had 7:15 reservations for My Time Dining and always had to wait in line for 15-30 minutes, while those without reservations seemed to get seated quicker. More than once we went on line for those without reservations because of this. It was very chaotic and unorganized being seated in the main dining room. Also, the quality and portion sizes weren't up to par. The lobster was terrible on the last formal night. Very small and dry. Also, its supposed to be a formal night, why were people in the dining room dressed like they were going to the beach. Its just not right. The last night we ate in the Windjammer and were sorry that we hadn't eaten in there every night. There was so much to choose from and it was far less chaotic.

The ports of call were good except for St. John's New Brunswick. That was terrible, there was nothing to do while we waited for our shore excursion to the Bay of Fundy and reversing rapids, which was quite a disappointment with a factory staring at us from the other side of the river, spewing smoke. But, as our tour guide kept pointing out, it didn't smell. I have no idea why they even stop there. Boston would have been a much better port of call.

Cabins were a good size with a king size bed. Very clean, neat and pleasant

Port Reviews

Portland (Maine)

Portland is a nice little city with many restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops on and near the waterfront. I liked it, but didn't love it.

Bar Harbor

Free busses were very crowded and we were afraid to get off and not be able to get on another bus, so we just took a loop around the park. We were very sorry we hadn't booked an excursion with the ship.

Halifax

Halifax is nice with a waterfront boardwalk containing many things to do. Peggy's Cove is a quaint little fishing village which is worth seeing and the bus ride there was very nice.
