We were wanting to take a Mediterranean cruise and since I am a teacher, the summer months were the best for us. We compared other cruise lines but preferred the ports and the length of time in each port that the Celebrity Constellation had to offer.
The ship is attractive, well designed and not too large. There were always places you go go for some quiet away time, if you wanted. The pools were fun and clean. We would also like to commend the Constellation on how efficiently they were able to board and disembark passengers.
We dined each evening at Luminae. What a wonderful staff, they have there. Russell was so friendly and efficient as the maître de; seating us quickly, quietly seeing what needed to be done and doing it. Our waitress, Eliza was so friendly and caring. She made excellent recommendations and we looked forward to seeing her each evening. Ryan was super fast with the breads and serving. His smile was contagious! Putra offered excellent wine and drink choices and always greeted us with a smile! The other staff were just as friendly and worked just as hard as our group. If we could give a 6/5 we would for the Luminae staff! The same goes for the hard working and attentive staff in Michael’s Club! Always a nice place to relax and unwind.
Our cabin was one of the Sky Class cabins for the disabled and was very nice. Our butler, Sebastian was great and very kind and helpful and our housekeeper was very good. The bathroom was large, as was our balcony. This room was for three people but the pullout sofa was very old, lumpy and crooked. (The frame of the sofa bed comes down on the edge of the balcony door ramp.) The staff solved this problem on day two by providing a comfortable roll away bed. Perhaps when refurbishing the room, the sofa bed could be replaced with a single bed with cushions on the back for a couch. This would provide a comfy place to sleep and not have the sofa bed have to rest on the handicap door ramp.
Loved this city! Wished we had allotted more time here. Stayed at Hotel Kette; excellent hotel near St. Mark’s.
The city bus is cheap and picks you up at the port and drops you downtown.
All the Oia excursions were booked so we booked Pyrgos. A quaint and beautiful village, not so crowded as Oia.
Very accessible and easy to get around.
Booked our own private guided tour of Pompeii. Nice to be in an intimate group.
Did the Hop on Hop off. Stayed at the Hotel Griffe MGallery - very centrally located and lovely staff. Iffy AC, but August was really hot in Rome!
