Stunning ports. Exceptional service. Dated ship and awful food.

How can you be unhappy in the South Pacific? It’s nearly impossible because it’s beyond stunning. The service on the ship is impeccable. Unfortunately the boat is extremely dated. The cabins look like a holiday inn room from the 80s. And most unfortunate was the food in all of the restaurants. Completely uninspired and low quality ingredients. The meat inside the beef Wellington was gray and unidentifiable. Anything that was supposed to be beef or chicken was very suspect and had a very strange flavor and texture. I’m not sure how this ship continues to receive such great reviews on service alone. There are so many other components that should be considered when opting to pay for a cruise that was anything short of inexpensive. In fact several of the other passengers on board felt the same and mentioned these issues to the customer relations manager who essentially apologizes that we felt that way and that nobody has ever mentioned anything like that before. Just a fair warning- if you are going to spend 13k plus on a cruise you may want to consider another option.

Tahiti (Papeete)

Stayed at the Intercontinental Tahiti for 2 days after the cruise. Highly recommended to get an over water bungalow. Preferably 487 if you can. Exceptional property.

Huahine

Walked to a hotel which had a private beach and pool.
