The following are representative examples of the various problems that we encountered:

1- Shuttle from Amsterdam to ship: We paid HAL for shuttle transfer to take us from Amsterdam to Rotterdam. We were designated a location to go to get the shuttle. We went there and waited for three full hours from 9:15am until 12:15pm. With 1.5 hours waiting outside the hotel that you designated, unprotected from the cold, wind and rain, because the hotel refused to let us in, and contrary to what we were told there were no HAL agents available to help, no lounge in the hotel to go to, and the hotel had no information on anything. We have never been treated like this. The Park Plaza Victoria Hotel had no idea about the shuttle bus, and told us to go to check at the bus terminals on the street outside the hotel. We went to the ticketing booths which manages shuttle and tourist buses. They also did not have any ideas about the HAL shuttle. We had to call the concierge of the hotel tin which we stayed to contact HAL and check the correct information about our shuttle bus. It was a real mess that we had not expected nor experienced before. We were advised to go there at 9:00am or 9:15am. We were told that HAL staff would be there waiting outside on the sidewalk and also inside the hotel to check us in. It was truly bad experience and resulted in catching cold by both my wife and I, getting various medications by our friends from Germany and looking for and buying medications in both Helsinki and Stockholm, sacrificing our time that was planned to enjoy sightseeing locations, and with such cold that stayed with us until we departed we disembarked

2- Ship: We were told that it was recently fully refurbishment. This is not showing at all. Even the cabin bathroom door frames are full of rust and peeled paint. The interior details of the cabin itself are done without considering the functional requirements of the user. When I asked Marco, the hotel Director, about this and why rust was not treated within the cabin, he said that refurbishment was done for 2-week period only and thus it covered only cosmetics (some carpet, etc.). When I told him that I was informed that it was full refurbishment, he said that that was never the case.
