This was our first cruise, so we were a little unsure of what to expect. We traveled to Fort Lauderdale, arriving the day before departure. This was very helpful and relieved any stress of the missing the boat. We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton cruise port. The staff was extremely friendly and although the pull-out couch in our room was not comfortable, they made efforts and gave us a complimentary upgrade for our return stay after the cruise. The cruise itself was fantastic. We found the onboarding a bit confusing. The lines were divided by color, but no mention of any color on our boarding passes? Also many of the cruise review websites had recommended bringing a powerbar. We only learned after that this was restricted and ours was confiscated. It was a hassle to retrieve it, so we just left it behind to be discarded. We were blown away by the food in the main dining room. Fantastic service except for one night. Our waiter seemed very interested in his other regular tables and since we did my time dining we didn’t develop a relationship with one specific individual. Our room attendant was very friendly. Only complaint was one morning a fre days in I did not have any small bills to leave him extra. He called me aside and pointedly asked if he had missed anything or if I was unsatisfied. This did make me feel a little uncomfortable and obligated to continue leaving extra cash every day. Maybe it would have been better to leave it all at the end? Teenagers (16 & 17) loved the sports activities and enjoyed the teen club on most nights. Drinks were even more expensive than I had heard, mixed drinks were $15 USD. Wine also very expensive and only a few choices by the glass. I didn’t get the drink package. I had only 2-3 drinks per day including wine with dinner, so still saved money. Kids chose internet ($265 for two devices for week) over a drink package, it was a good choice. They drank ice water instead of pop all day. We took the web advice and arranged our own shore excursions. Best was Roatan Eco Tours for snorkeling. Best service and experience ever for snorkeling from Alex (owner) and Javi (shipmate)! Highly recommend!! Nassau and Cozumel were great. Booked Atlantis and beach excursions myself instead of through RC and saved hundreds of dollars each day. Costa Maya was disappointing. Just a man-made Caribbean village. Spent an hour and went back to ship. Did the express disembarkation process and we were off the ship, through customs and in a taxi in 10 minutes. Overall a fantastic experience and we will cruise again.

Small but perfect for us. Couldn’t feel any motion, even during storm. Very convenient location. No lining for elevator and close to gangway.
