We chose this cruise as it was at the right time of year for our school holidays, went to the places we wanted to go and we got a great deal on a balcony cabin.
We flew from Perth Western Australia to Heathrow, and had a transfer to Southampton.
We arrived in Southampton and put our bags in and went to the local shops to get phone sim cards and shop.
Cabin was great for the 4 of us, we didn't spend much time in there except to sleep, but I was glad of the balcony I could sit outside and read.
We went up the lift to the castle and saw the roman ampitheter. I really liked Cartegena it seems like a lovely place, full of history and not too packed.
We didn't have much time in Gibralter so we didn't go up the rock.. I wish we had taken one of the taxi/tour bus which were waiting to greet us as we disembarked.. Instead my wife and daughter went to the shops and my son and I went to the "100 ton gun" the gun was quite interesting, we were the only people there. We then went into the main street and everything was so expensive we ended back on the Ship for lunch.
We got the hop on hop off tourist bus to the Gaudi cathedral and the FC Barca Stadium (Camp nou) we didn't get in to the Cathedral as we had not booked and the wait was hours. The Camp Nou experience tour was quite good, my son loved it, wife, not so much.
A walk down las rambla and some tapas in a quiet square was nice.
We walked up to the lift to the castle. Was the kids first time ever seeing a castle and even so it was underwhelming..
My son and I went to the navel museum, it was quite good for maybe an hour. Then we wandered around and had lunch in a non touristy restaurant which we really enjoyed. My wife went shopping.
We did the Florence and Pisa tour, it was very rushed. Better to just do Florence. Pisa was a dissapointment. (But the kids have seen the leaning tower now)
