My Wife and I chose this particular cruise for several reasons. We both have motion issues when it comes to ocean voyages, so we hoped the river cruise would be more comfortable for us and it was very smooth. Another key attraction to this particular cruise was the availability of a french balcony room. With our quick decision to take a cruise, it was great to secure this great room. The room was snug as expected, but more than met our needs. Storage for suitcases under the bed was a huge feature and storage in general was more than adequate. I also thought the bathroom was very well designed to give the user as much elbow room as possible. Our room was well insulated for noise and very quiet. The ship, Egil, was reserved elegance, classy, not showy. Perfectly designed for giving the passengers a wonderful environment for river cruising. I can't say enough about the crew and staff. Very professional, helpful and friendly, not a combination you always find. We enjoyed getting to know several of the staff members on a personal basis.

The food was excellent. Breakfast was a huge feast. They covered all the bases. Lunch was light, as it should be, but very well done. Dinner was delightful every night. I had the "local" meal every dinner and was wonderful. The wine and beer selections were more than adequate. We decided to go with the beverage package--it worked out well for us. The excursions were fantastic. Absolutely loved Budapest and the tour. Some excursions were better than others, but we enjoyed them all. Can't wait to take another cruise with Viking.

French Balcony

Cabin D

Room was great. Exceeded our expectations on storage. Bathroom was very well designed with great shower water pressure. The french balcony was great--nice size to really give the room a feeling of space. Room was well insulated since we hardly ever heard our neighbors, if at all. Bed was good for me, a bit firm for my Wife.
