I highly recommend this trip. We are actually looking at doing it again but in the opposite direction. We were in the lowest level on the boat and the rooms were fantastic. Good sized closets, excellent shower, fridge, television and comfortable beds. Also very nice shower products (leave your toiletries at home) Viking is very organized from the time you embark to disembark. I would look on the television every morning to view the menus for the day so I could toss around what I was going to order as many days it was hard to chose and everything sounded so good. Chef Jan would come to the lounge every evening before dinner and give the chefs recommendations and explain how the food was prepared. Chef Jan also had a sense of humor. The lounge had music every happy hour and then again at 9:00 pm for dancing. they would change the themes nightly from Country and Western, Classical, and Rock and Roll etc. There was always something to do in the afternoons after our daily tour. There was an afternoon English tea one day and another the Chef demonstrated on how to make strudel. The waiters in the dining room and the lounge were excellent. They quickly learned your tastes to be able to recommend a wine. We purchased the Silver Spirits package in our own currency and it was well worth it. The shore excursions are well managed and there was never any line ups to wait in.We met lots of very nice people and we now have new friends. Another great thing about this trip is there are no children allowed. Viking is there to great you at the airport to take you to your hotel or boat and there at the end for your return home. My only complaint is that I gained weight due to the great food.
