We recently celebrated my husband's retirement by taking a 7 day cruise on the Harmony of the Seas. Our itinerary included the Eastern Caribbean destinations of Nassau, Bahamas, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, and Basseterre, St. Kitts. We had two adjacent oceanfront balcony rooms on the 8th deck, and our rooms were toward the front of the ship. The cabin steward did an excellent job of keeping our rooms clean and well-stocked with ice. Most evenings, we dined at Silk, and enjoyed delicious meals and phenomenal service. On one evening, we went to Wonder Land, a specialty restaurant on board. Our dinner at Wonder Land was an amazing experience! The food and the unique manner in which it was presented were incredible. To add to the evening, our family was seated directly in front of the enormous glass windows overlooking the Boardwalk. The view was simply stunning!
The cruise provided endless entertainment options for our family of four (including two grown children, ages 21 and 29). We enjoyed the on-board production of Grease so much that we actually saw it twice! We found the comedy shows to be really funny, and we also really enjoyed the juggling / comedy duo. During our sea days, we participated in multiple trivia competitions, scavenger hunts, quizzes, and even Bingo! My husband enjoyed spending time by the pool, and my son enjoyed spending money (and even winning money) in the casino.
Our first port was Nassau, Bahamas. We did the Blue Lagoon Island Deluxe Beach Break. This excursion was a pleasant surprise for me. The water was crystal clear and the beach area never felt crowded. We floated and snorkeled, then enjoyed a delicious lunch. It was a very relaxing excursion.
