I had very high expectations for this ship before I boarded. Considering it was brand new (only 4 months old when we sailed) and all of the bells and whistles that were advertised, I knew this would be a fantastic vacation. I was wrong. I was traveling with 9 people-5 adults and 4 children in 3 different cabins. The embarkation process was super easy and organized. I was happy with this as we all know how difficult it can be rounding up large groups of people and especially children. The service was awesome as well. Everyone on board was friendly and helpful. We loved the cruise director Mike and his team. They were funny, personable and engaging. The food was great and the head waiter Gus at the Reflections Restaurant was very good. He remembered our names when we saw him the next day after meeting us just one time the night before.
Now the downside...this ship wasn't clean. Everytime I went into a restroom in a public area there was toilet paper on the floor, water all over the sink and an awful smell. There was dirt built up in the corner like it had never been cleaned. Again this ship wasn't that old so I'm not sure how this happened. We would walk down the hall any time of day and find dirty dishes outside the cabins which wouldn't be a problem except we would go back down the hall hours later and it was still there. When trying to find a place to eat at the buffet, there were always dirty dishes piled on abandoned tables. I've been on multiple cruises/cruise lines and never experienced this before. I also thought there would be more for the kids to do. There weren't many activities for the kids that didn't cost money. The IMAX theater, thrill theater and arcade were all very expensive.
Overall it was a good time. If you do choose this ship, just be sure to lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed.
