NCL could not have made this dream vacation run any smoother. From Embarkation day to disembarkation day we were treated as valued customers. The food was fresh & delicious. With menus ranging from kid friendly to formal dining there is certainly something for everyone. Even the pickiest of eaters. I suggest taking advantage of all the specials / freebies they have to offer as it lends to a more carefree style cruise.

The entertainment was fabulous both on stage and in the many designated areas. The atmosphere on the ship was wonderful adding to the experience. The staff were super friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to please. Making reservations for dining / excursions are easy as one two three.

The itinerary was out of this world. Many items on our bucket list were checked off such as; walking around (and in) a crater on Mount Etna; exploring the ruins of Pompeii; touring the palace of Princess Grace & Prince Rainier of Monaco and so much more. The scenery was stunningly beautiful at night with Italy's boot sparkling with lights and the sunsets over the Mediterranean Sea . . . well . . . you just have to experience it.

Very clean and well tended too. Being Gold members we were gifted with a bottle of champagne along with many other benefits (none of which we had to ask for). It was so much fun to discover which towel animal we were going to find on our bed when retiring for the day. I would highly recommend at least an ocean view as the view is spectacular, especially if you are cruising along the shore with the twinkling lights in the distance. The daylight also helps to brighten the room.

Port Reviews

Marseille

We went onshore ourselves and soon discovered that although there are many outdoor vendors the regular shops are closed on Sundays. Still a very clean & pretty place to visit.

Barcelona

We went onshore ourselves and took the double decker Hop On Hop Off bus. It allowed us to get on & off to see what we wanted. We took a cable car ride across the sea to the east side, dipped into the Mediterranean Sea (just because we could), had lunch and then caught the bus a few blocks down the road to finish an amazing tour. TIP: sit on the upper deck of the bus or you will miss a lot of the city's beautiful architecture.

Malta (Valletta)

Do not take the Hop On Hop Off buses. They are not worth the time. Although they do cover 2-3 routes for one price no one could tell us which route we were on as they all depart from the same location. We only wanted to go on the 1.5 hour ride and ended up on the 3 hour+ ride. Not much to see outside of the tourist area. Bus driver was more of a race car driver. My husband lost his hat and we had to duck from tree branches. Our friends too the excursion and said it was one of their highlights.
