We chose this ship because it was the only one that was supposed to dock at multiple islands. This was our first visit to Hawaii and thought it would be a great way to take it all in. Let me start out by saying this is an older ship, probably taken out of service from Caribbean cruises. The pools are tiny (too small for 2000 people), the hot tubs are all in need of repair( one was empty the whole trip). The main theater, The Hollywood Theater, we (there was six in our party) renamed, The Pain in the Butt Theater. The seats are so uncomfortable you can sit still for ten minutes tops before you have to shift around. There is no drink packages due to Hawaii's state law. That gave NCL the right to ask whatever they wanted to for a drink. $40 for a six pack of beer, mandatory tip added in, even though we would pick it up at the bar. That $40 is for buy 5 bottles get one free. On shore at the ABC Store its $8.99 a six pack but you can't bring it on the ship. Nothing is free, not even a little water bottle, nothing is discounted. The food in the restaurants is average, same food as you get in the buffet.

Unfortunately we were cruising when Hurricane Lane was getting close. NCL's brilliant idea was to take us out to sea for 4 days with no way of contacting our families that we were ok. I asked the Guest Service Rep to connect me to NCL's corporate offices so I could speak to someone with the authority to turn the wifi on for the passengers to use or turn on the satellite phones. My request was denied. They had no idea how to handle an emergency situation. All our families were seeing is what they were watching on the Weather Channel. After what I assume was pressure from the passengers they finally agreed to comp us a 1/2 hour of WiFi. My wife was in tears for 3 days. We only docked at two islands early in the trip, even though our UBER driver when we got back said it hardly rained in Honolulu. The staff seems all new and not happy. I saw many supervisors snapping at the young staff. A dinner meal in the dining room will take you 2 hours start to finish. There is a sex discriminating dress policy in the dining room, men must wear sleeved shirts but women don't. This will be our last NCL cruise. Please save your money. Fly into Hawaii and take excursions from there, cruising is a waste of your hard earned money.
