Just got back from a cruise on MSC Fantasia which was a mixed experience. I did not have high expectations after reading a few reviews on this page, but it was not as bad as I expected. I have been on several cruises before, all with RCCL, but for my partner it was the first time.

The ship is good enough, clean enough, exciting enough, but nothing to blow you away. Embarcation and disembarcation in Barcelona was smooth and without problem. The cabin was quite large and had a comfortable bed. It felt like it was badly isolated however as we could clearly hear everythin our neighbours said and did in their cabins.

I have read other reviews here about the food and dining experience and sadly I have to agree with them. For me the portions size in the main dining room was ok, but for my partner, a tall and active guy they were too smal. The food was notthing special and could be warmer. I mentioned my alergy to nuts to our waiter several times, and still he brought me dishes containing nuts. Not good. In general I found that information regarding alergy was lacking. In the buffet restaurant a sign just said "assorted muffins" I picked up one that looked like a blueberry muffin, but that had nuts in it.

Port Reviews

Corsica (Ajaccio)

We walked around the city center for a bit, but ended up finding a beach and stayed there. Nothing special, but not bad.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

We took a taxi to a beautiful beach called Baia Blue to get away from the city and tourists. Great place

Genoa

We did a hop on - hop off bus tour that was really good. A beautiful city and our favourite port. Just walking around and looking at the buildings was amazing.

Cannes

Exciting Cannes! We walked along the promenade and went to the beach.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

It was ok, nothing more
