We watched the TV commercials and dreamed of going on a Viking River Cruise. We were able to finally afford a dream vacation and so booked directly through Viking. The agent there "Bella" was very helpful with all our many questions. There were some discounts offered for payment in advance which we did and chose all our day tours well in advance too.
The Ports and Shore excursions were precisely timed and we had no problems whatsoever. The tour guides and bus drivers were very professional and we were amazed at the wealth of knowledge they shared.
We really liked the idea of no children, casino's or pool. We were able to relax and enjoy as much or little of the history and culture of each place we visited.
The dinning facilities both indoor and outdoor were great. The meals were prepared and presented as if we were royalty!
The accommodations were beautiful. The rooms and whole ship are done up in very light colours so you don't feel closed in at all. Our room with a small balcony was comfortable, clean and very modern.
The staff always went above and beyond any expectation. They were full of information, friendly and really couldn't do enough for us.
The professional entertainers were a matter of taste. We aren't really into the lounge scene so spent some evenings in our room where there were a variety of movies available at no extra cost. There is also a well stocked library on board. Game night was fun with participation voluntary if in the mood. There was also an outdoor walking track available.
We really can't say enough about our experience other than it was fantastic from beginning to end.
We would absolutely go on a Viking River Cruise again and look forward to it!
Beautiful, bright, well equipped. Lots of room including a small fridge and safe. Ample closet and drawer space for 2 with a King Size bed.
