My wife are from Melbourne, Australia and discovered this cruise on the internet.

We have just completed a wonderful 7 night cruise of the Douro River Valley from Porto to Salamanca and back on Croisi Europe’s 132 passenger vessel the ‘Gil Eanes’. Whilst Croisi Europe is a French cruise line there were passengers from France, England, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Denmark, Germany, Austria and Brazil.

From our friendly Welcome Aboard till disembarkation the crew attention and service was outstanding.

Cabin Review

Cabin 5

The cabin was compact with very comfortable beds and a good bathroom. It was very clean and serviced every day with fresh towels etc. Our large sliding window allowed for fresh air during the day rather than using the aircon. The only drawback is that there is no seating to watch TV except on the bed(s). However there is so much else to see and do that we spent very little time in the cabin.

Port Reviews

Vega de Terron (Salamanca)

The tour of Salamanca was one of the highlights of the cruise. Our guide Ric led the English and German speaking group and he was outstanding in both his language fluency and the history.
