We chose this cruise due to the itinerary being one way inside passage, giving longer time in ports. Also, we have sailed Serenade, Radiance's sister ship and it was out favorite ship with its glass and window-filled areas. It's perfect for viewing Alaska. It's not too small nor too big and it goes to Icy Strait Point. We had read Icy Strait Point was amazing and it was our favorite port. We had sailed RCI on 4 previous cruises. We knew to expect good service, entertainment and food. This cruise was incredible, though we learned things along the way.

I would definitely do this cruise again, but would probably do southbound instead of northbound just to get thr longer time difference out of the way. It was a struggle to resume EST.

We spent 3 night in Vancouver precruise flying from Baltimore to Toronto and Toronto to Vancouver. Air Canada was wonderful and the extra legroom seats well worth it.

Cabin 3N

Our cabin was fine for the 3 of us, very clean and tended to at least twice daily. Towel animals 3 times. I am not sure if RCI stopped doing towel animals daily or if this is when gratuities are paid in advance. Out son, even at 10 years old, loved them.

The bed was extremely comfortable as I have always found RCI beds.

The only negative was the shower curtain instead of door. which meant the floor tended to get wet.

We were thankful to have access to my parent's balcony as we really see why a balcony is recommended if you can afford it.

Our floor and room location was pretty convenient in terms of getting off in port. We had some noisy neighbors at times, but they were gone most of the time.
