Before the trip...a bit worried and hopeful that all would go well for my wife and daughter who both use electric wheelchairs.
During...blown away with how accessable the ship was and how accommodating the crew was. Loved it! Very happy. we had two electric wheelchairs in one room and still had plenty of room.
We only experienced one unexpected accessibility issue when my wife and I were attempting to be contestants during a game show and there was no accessible access to the stage which prevented us from participating. Everything else was well beyond expectations. Getting on and off the ship at all ports, during our 7-Day Alaskan cruise, was easy and everybody was helpful.
This cabin was more than we expected and was able to accommodate two full size electric wheelchairs. The room is set up to have for single beds two of them being fold down bunk beds from the ceiling. The bathroom was very accessible with the fold down bench in the shower. There was more than enough room to accommodate all our luggage and necessary medical equipment. there was one Outlet in the room so it advised bringing a power strip. The balcony was large enough for both wheelchairs and three to four other people standing. We loved it and we're very comfortable.
We had a great experience in Seattle before the cruise and visited the Space Needle.
Despite the Rainy conditions in Juneau we had a blast exploring the city.
Glacier Bay was absolutely amazing. The views from our balcony were wonderful and the commentary from the experts was broadcast on the TV so we can hear everything and learn all about it without leaving our room and battling the crowds.
Ketchikan was amazing. I highly recommend buying some salmon jerky if you get a chance it's wonderful.
Upon returning home for my cruise I mentioned that we had two things to do. The first thing is laundry. The second thing is figuring out how we can move to Victoria and live there. Very beautiful clean and friendly City.
