We chose this cruise du to the fact that it was all inclusive and the write-ups. Due to river levels we did not get to sail on the ship we paid for. This we found out the day before we boarded the ship (Scenic Amber) hence we were on an older vessel lacking amenities we paid for. At the time of booking this cruise (may 2017) we book adjacent rooms with close friends as both couples were celebrating 40th anniversary, and this trip was to commemorate this event. Upon boarding the ship found us separated substantially on the same deck. When we approached the cruise director he informed that the ships were different configuration and there was nothing he could do. We would have to take it up with Scenic at a later date. Needless to say the cruise started off totally with a crash. The change to the second ship ended up consuming almost 2 days with an evening packing, 6 hours on a bus for a 2 hour tour and an evening for unpacking into tighter quarters on "Scenic Pearl".
Dining on board was average at best but should be rated at 2.5, other than the Table La Riv. Compared to other cruises I have been where dining would be 4 to 5.
The cabin on the "Scenic Jade" was not too bad with folding balcony doors which expanded the cabin substantially. The cabin on the "Scenic Pearl" was much more tighter. Balcony had a sliding door rendering the balcony as unusable. The show was very tight and almost unusable.
The tour guide had a very heavy accent and at most times we could not understand what he was saying. Beautiful city.
