My husband and I cruised to Alaska, from Seattle, the first week of September 2018. We (well, I) splurged and booked a room in the Haven section (floor 17). This review will address both Haven and overall experience, but my rating scores will be for Haven which did offer a priority for activities. Before the details, the most significant areas of opportunity for NCL Bliss:
- Water, Seltzer, Coffee/Tea water is not included in the Unlimited Drink Package
- Haven Suites are all toward the front of the boat leading to feeling a lot of movement
The room was smaller than I expected for the price we paid. The images online showed a different room, larger balcony and separate shower/tub. That said, the decor is beautiful, the bed is very comfortable, the amenities are great (high end soaps, the most comfortable bathrobe in existence, fresh flower arrangements, full-size bathtub). The lighting around the room and in the ceiling really is beautiful and, while our balcony size was standard, there were wicker-type chairs with comfortable padding.
Victoria was beautiful, had a vibrant downtown and a ton of places to eat. Bad part: the port doesn't offer a free shuttle, so shell out $13 or walk 30 minutes. Good part: Once you get downtown, you'll forget about all of the terrible jewelry shops from your previous ports. Friendly Canadians, comic books stores, restaurants, boutique clothing stores and some great bars. Wish we could have been there longer - the port stop was only for 4 hours.
Juneau is great once you get passed the terrible jewelry shops
Ketchikan is great once you get passed the terrible jewelry shops
