The Good and Not-So-Good on Ruby Princess Voyage of the Glaciers sailing from Seattle.

Good – Entertainment was terrific. Luca Cervo (guitarist) has a dynamic personality and plays very well. We bonded almost instantly and rarely missed a performance. He was usually found in the Wheelhouse Bar in the early evening. He was followed by a husband/wife duo, Great Escape, who played a variety of music suitable for late night dancing. (Luca and Great Escape). Look for bartenders Ronnie and Mario and servers Vedran and Sheena for excellent service.

Good – Princess continues to step up its quality when it comes to passenger dining. We ate breakfast in the Horizon Court (buffet) and got the basics (eggs, bacon/sausage/ hash browns, fruit). We ate a light lunch in favor of a more substantial dinner. We ate in the Salty Dog Gastro Pub one night ($12/person cover). There is really only one entrée’ in the pub, the Uchimura burger, but it is a good burger. I had the calamari frittes and my wife had the crabcake as appetizers, both of which were very good. The steaks in the Crown Grill ($29/person cover) were excellent, as usual. We ate in the main dining room only one night and were not terribly impressed. The remaining evenings were spent in the Horizon Court where the selections were as good or better than what was available in the MDR. We didn’t try Curtis Stone’s Share venue, and I guess Sabatini’s (the Italian restaurant) had been removed in favor of Share.

Cabin BC

We prefer being up high in the forward section of the ship, hence the Lido deck. Cabin size was good for a seven-day cruise, but I'd want something a bit larger for a longer trip. We had the opportunity to get a mini-suite for an additional $199/person closer to the cruise, but we opted to stay in our original cabin to enjoy "the motion of the ocean"!
