Absolutely loved our cruise. This was our second time on the Equinox and this time was even better than last time. Our cabin, 8160, had an oversized balcony which was wonderful. It was on the angle so had lots of privacy. The entire ship was clean and the entertainment was good. Of course, we liked some things better than others – we could have skipped the magician and piano player, but we found the singers to be some of the best we have ever heard. The big house band was loud – but the other groups were fine. Food is subjective but we found it to be much improved from the first time we were on the Equinox. The Oceanview Café had a good selection of salad fixings every day and the sorbets were excellent. We had Select Dining and ate early evening with no wait. The food was surprisingly good including the steak that is offered every night. Every evening we were seated at a window table for two which was nice – we were able to watch the sunset. We rarely stayed for dessert in the dining room preferring to go to Oceanview a little later in the evening for a larger selection. Dessert was consistently good – much better than we had on Princess on our last cruise.
We lucked out with the ports and the weather. We had beautiful sunny weather and were able to walk to the beach in every port except Antigua (we just walked in town).
It was just a wonderful, relaxing cruise.
Great cabin with an oversized private balcony. Completely quiet and nice and cool. Loved the location. We walk a lot - 4 flights up to the pool and 4 flights down to the theater.
Took the water taxi to Water Island. Went to Dinghy's and had a fabulous day.
Walked to Rhythms - great beach and bar. It took about twenty minutes to walk there. We were told that we had to take a taxi but then met someone in a dive shop who said to walk it - it was fine. There are sidewalks most of the way.
We walked to Boatyard which is always excellent - beautiful water and a fun time.
We walked to Vigie Beach - it was very nice and not crowded as we were they only ship in port. Captain Cliff Adventure Tours offered us chairs. They also run an excursion that includes transportation but we didn't know that. They offered to give us a ride back to port but we walked.
We almost always go to the beach near Front Street. This time we rented padded loungers from Andrew. As usual it was a nice way to spend the day. The water taxi is $7 round trip but we walked - it only takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
