We chose Majestic Princess again as we had cruised on her maiden voyage a year ago. It's a wonderful ship and there are so many restaurants and bars to visit that you will never be bored. The production shows are some of the best we have seen and the visiting artists were all very good. One of the other reasons we chose this ship was that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and wanted to do it in style. We opted to do a vow renewal ceremony and we couldn't have chosen a better ship to do it on. The ceremony was amazing; the attention to detail from the Princess staff was simply mind blowing! They brought in fresh roses for my bouquet plus roses and orchids for decoration in the Hollywood Conservatory from Hong Kong where we had docked 2 days before. We were greeted on arrival by all the officers in their dress uniform; our music of choice was playing and our friends were all seated comfortably. Captain Craig Stuart then performed the ceremony and my husband is still convinced that it was better than our wedding in 1968 so that's saying something! If you are thinking of getting married or having a vow renewal ceremony then there is no better place to do it than on a Princess cruise ship!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

Cabin was near the back of the ship but close to the lift and laundry. The cabin was spacious and there was plenty of room on the balcony to relax. The cabin was bright and airy and always clean. Whilst a little smaller than some of Princesses older ships there is still adequate space and plenty of storage for clothing etc. There are both US and Australian electrical outlets. The best thing about the Majestic Princess staterooms are the availability of WiFi - it is no longer necessary to visit an Internet Cafe if you have your own tablet or smart phone. The internet speed is very good too.

Port Reviews

Busan, South Korea

The coach was luxurious and very highly polished; frilly and lace curtains, disco lights and a huge TV at the front and smaller ones all along both sides. We had an interesting tour of the city and then visited the Busan Museum which was very well set out. Later we were dropped off at the largest department store in Korea called Lotte. We even found a Krispy Kreme coffee shop so we spent our last 20 minutes enjoying donuts and coffee!

Hong Kong

It was pouring with rain most of the day so it wasn't really a good day for sightseeing in Hong Kong. We caught the shuttle bus to Hollywood Plaza at Diamond Hill and enjoyed visiting the variety of stores.

Nha Trang

We went across to Nah Trang on the 2nd tender boat and then boarded a shuttle bus which dropped us off at the TTC Hotel Michelia where we had free wi-fi. After catching up with email and Facebook we walked to the Cho Dam Market where we bought a Good Morning Vietnam. The streets near the market in Nha Trang were chaotic, scooters everywhere and constant honking! The beaches here are wonderful and very clean. This is a place I could come back to and spend a few days.

Singapore

We disembarked in Singapore at 8:15am and the immigration procedure went very smoothly. It was a 600 metre walk to the SMRT Marina Bay South station. I checked our EziLink card from last year and we still had $6.90 to spend. I think when we arrived back later in the day we still had about $2.50 left for another time! We went to Little India first but didn't think much of it so hopped back on the train and went to Little China where I bought lots of souvenirs at very cheap prices. We tried a different restaurant this year and we had Yangzhou fried rice, roast pork siew and some spicy Sezuchan chicken dish with a 633ml bottle of Tiger beer each. Total cost about $70.AUD but a delicious meal. Our next stop was going to be Raffles Pop-up Bar as Raffles is undergoing renovation.

Darwin

Didn't see much here as I had to return to the ship as I was feeling sick.

Brisbane

Because of the size of the ship it has to dock at Fishermans Wharf which is not a very nice dock. It's about 20 kilometres from the city. Brisbane really does need a new cruise port!
