Sail Date: Aug 2018
Cabin: Superior Outside

We've long wanted to visit Iceland, so this was the perfect choice- sailing out of Newcastle is easier for us than Southampton, and we were on Balmoral the previous autumn, so knew that she was a sturdy little ship, with excellent food and service. The itinerary was all Iceland- some cruises add other islands, or Norway, but that's not what we wanted.

The check in was simple, and everything is so well organised for you to reach your cabin with ease.

The ship has had a refurbishment since our last cruise on her, which included full make over of cabins- ours was spacious and very attractve.

Cabin Review

Superior Outside

Cabin B

The cabins have been fully refurbished this year; ours was spacious enough to have a full settee, large coffee table and comfortable chair, and still have plenty of room to walk around. I counted 13 drawers in the main room, and there were large cupboards beneath the washbasin in the bathroom- and, yes, it was a bathroom, with bath and shower over.

The colour touches were turquoise; the lighting was new and bright enough to read by; a new TV hung on the wall, and the bed and linen were exceptionally comfortable.

Port Reviews

Isafjord

This was, to us, one of the most beautiful places we've ever visited, but to some it seemed bleak and unattractive. It's all snowy peaks, deep fjords, mossy rocks and tiny fishing villages. We were fortunated to have a marine life student as our guide, and I think his love of the area spilled over on to us. It's an area we'll return to,one day.
