Cabin Review

I'm just guessing at the category. It was the larger balcony. This was the 1st time we have ever booked a balcony and we loved sitting out on the balcony at night just listening to the water and feeling the breeze.

1. Balcony = Terrific

2. Room size = Terrific

3. Bed size = King, nice

4. Bed comfort = Very uncomfortable. We has a very thin and hard mattress. No sleep at all on the 1st night. The following day, we asked the service desk for foam. That night, nothing. The next day, we asked our housekeeper for foam. Later, the housekeeping manager stopped by because the service desk had put in an order for us. She explained to us that they no longer use foam for sanitary reasons. So our housekeeper folded up a quilt and put it under the sheets. It was an improvement, but still pretty painful to my arthritic hip. We decided to just live with it. On the 6th night of the cruise, we learned from other guests at or dinner table that they had foam on their mattress. So, we feel like the housekeeping manager was not honest with us and chose to leave us in discomfort. That was disappointing.

5. Curtains and carpet = Need to be replaced. The blackout curtain hung crooked on one side because several of the hooks were destroyed. The curtain was falling apart at the top. The sheer curtain also hung funny. It was stiff with accumulated dirt. A good washing would probably fix that problem. The carpet was pretty worn, especially in the walking path.

6. Housekeeper = Pretty attentive. We do not fault him for the discomfort of the bed. We felt like this was out of his control. The decision to not provide better comfort was on the housekeeping manager.
