We were a bit nervous about this cruise because we had never sailed Carnival before and had heard it was a "Party" ship. Our fears were for naught because Carnival is very much like all the other cruise lines with a mix of all different offerings and something for everyone. We had an excellent embarkation. Since we were in a suite we walked right on the ship and to our cabin. Unfortunately, our cabin was not properly vacuumed and there were foodstuffs from the previous tenants in the frig. That was quickly rectified by out excellent steward, Raul. He was very attentive and on the ball. The ship itself is quite nice and seems to be well maintained. The internet leaves much to be desired. We could rarely get online or send email, but in defense of the cruise line, they did compensate us for it when we complained. There was a lot of country music on board as well as salsa type music which was a bit of a change from what we are used to. We never ate in the dining room, so cannot comment on that, but the buffet food was generally terrible, especially at breakfast (worst scrambled eggs I've ever had!). We did enjoy the Guy Fieri Hamburger place (great fries), Pig and Anchor and 24 hr pizza shop. The ports offered on this cruise were great and why we chose to take this 14 day 7 port re positioning cruise. We did excursions at 6 of the ports and were happy with most of them. All in all we really enjoyed this cruise and would definitely do it again.
Cabin was a nice size for the two of us. Loved the double sinks in the bathroom and whirlpool tub. Also enjoyed the view of the ocean from the bed and liked having a door out to the balcony rather than the usual slider on other cruise lines.
