My 6th cruise with AmaWaterways. My previous cruises on other ships in their fleet were spectacular. I either had French or walkout balconies. There were many times I would sit out and watch the world go by while sipping a glass of wine.A perfect way to see the castles on the Rhein. Being a solo passenger, they would always wave the single supplement so I could enjoy a room on the Cello or Violin deck. This trip was different. Rooms on these decks were no longer made available for waving single supplements. Only the lower class cabins were offered now. To some, this may not have been a problem, but to a person as myself who is just over 5 feet tall, looking out the porthole was difficult as you would need to stand on a chair to accomplish this task. The next problem was the narrow staircase . My first attempt at climbing up to dinner, I somehow trip on a step. I wasn't hurt....just embarrassed. Staff was still excellent, but this lost its appeal to travel with this cruise line. Take heart though...excellent for just starting out with river cruising, but definitely a disaster for seasoned travelors
poor choice for me
