We went on the Majestic for a family getaway to Fiji...beautiful new ship with great crew and captain..all very helpful. Lovely cabin and steward, very spacious cabin with nice sofa and good bathroom. Priority Embarkation very quick, we were onboard by 11.30 am. Service was great throughout the ship, except the atrium area where it was too crowded ..all the time....and the poor staff where often overwhelmed. Normal Princess activities, trivia, bingo etc, all pretty standard and well run. Great movies under the stars too. Ship is spotless and new. Unfortunately, we all found the food to be no where near as good as our other 20 cruises, mostly Princess...buffett was very bland and many items could not be found...breakfast was sadly not good, huge jars of jam and vegemite with spoons in them for all to share...no sachets which would have been more hygienic ..we have never seen this before, very strange!..I unfortunately I got noro virus onboard, I had my own hand sanitiser, and washed hands outside buffet area too and used the sanitiser also in buffett, no idea how I got that, but there you go! Medical staff were wonderful, sent the meds to my cabin and I was quarantined, and recovered well. The dining rooms were okay , we had a problem with the anytime dining, they only offered us 5.15 or 8pm, so we had to eat in the pizza place and buffett quite a bit to get a good time to eat. Food was very average . The worst thing about the ship is the one and only area..the piazza...where everything happens all day and night, 3000 people with only one area to congregated and not enough seating....not good,,,one dance floor on a ship this size is ridiculous. The theatres were very crowded with people saving many seats for an hour or more before the shows, so we avoided those. The ports were good, loved Mystery island again and Noumea, and enjoyed Lautoka. She is a beautiful ship, very strange layout for such a large number of people.. too much room for the huge casino and many high end shops were a waste of valuable space which could have been given over to more bars or a nightclub.... shes just not for us...we will keep to the Diamond, Ruby Emerald etc...and Celebrity Solstice of course. Looking forward to the Ruby when she comes to stay in Oz.
