We chose this cruise because it was one of only a few options going to Fiji, which was my son's choice for his grad trip. We haven't cruised Princess before and thought this one-year old ship would be a grand experience.
While owning "The Love Boat" theme and it's integration throughout was a cool touch, overall the ship and experience was average compared to other carriers / ships.
Cabin size was disappointing (we were in a PREMIUM! - I'm 6'2" and this was a ship built for the Asia market so I guess I should have expected it), dining was good (not great), entertainment was good but limited, service was actually not very good, and excursions varied dramatically.
Fairly disappointed at the size of this cabin given its location, price, etc. It was no larger than any room we have been on with any other cruise despite it being premium - makes me reconsider paying the extra. Although the rear of the ship was a great place to be (minimal wind). When couch was extended we couldn't get out the patio door. When bunk was out any movement in the room was even more limited (ladder). Storage was oddly limited in comparison. Bathroom was normal. Overall just disappointed comparatively.
Sydney is an excellent port. Do the opera house tour, see a show, and ya gotta do the bridge climb!
Disappointing port in every respect. We did not identify an interesting excursion and just decided to tour the city - boring.
great experience overall
Best excursion we have ever done.
Short walk, tiny cave, "hunting" experience was really basic. Disappointed.
Also, cruise line made this one VERY difficult to book. Didn't even have it available until we were on the ship.
