This was our 2nd princess family cruise and we were very excited for the new ship. Sadly our expectations were not met. We were looking forward to the indoor pool (as we were well aware outdoor swimming traveling to New Zealand probably wouldn’t happen). I called princess 3 times to confirm the use of the Hollywood conservatory for children, and was reassured that it will be.

As soon as we stepped into the ship we headed up there, only to be greeted with an “ADULTS only area” sign. The stupidity of this is that the FAMILY area of instruments/chess/game tables etc is directly past the Indoor pool. The dirty looks we received from grumpy elderly people was disgusting (while we passed through to get to the family area) as if they paid more than us and we weren’t entitled to be in there!!! One grumpy OLD man actually had the audacity to tell us to get out. I spoke to customer service and upper management and was given an apology but no change. The pool was mostly unused throughout our cruise, but yet we still didn’t have access.

Food was great, the few quizzes were funny too. Most of the shows in the theatre were average. Besides line dancing, couples dancing, juggling and painting not much else was on offer.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

4 people in room and needed to ask room attendant to pack sofa bed and Pullman so that room could be used more comfortably during day. He did, but felt that I shouldn’t have needed to ask (why have a mini suite if space can’t be used as intended?)
