We sailed August on Rhine Getaway from Amsterdam to Bazel looking forward to our first river cruise with Viking as we did Med odessey on Viking Star 2yrs ago.
We were informed the day we sailed that possible river levels may effect our cruise.When we were told on board 3 days later It all went pear shaped when we berthed at kioblenz and had to swap from HILn to Kara via a 3hr bus trip with no air conditioning in 30deg heat! The food and service on Kara was terrible in comparison to Hiln. On disembarking at Bazel we were told due to Koblenz excursion being cancelled an on board credit of $212Aud will be deposited into our bank in 10 working days, we still haven’t received this it is now Oct! With many email requests for refund payment and the terrible excuses after excuses (including we are changing our account system)we have now cancelled Viking Alaska 2020 lost cruise at the expense of our deposit paid, and now resided to the fact we will never see our on board AUD$212 again which is rightfully and lawfully ours.The last email we had a week ago was it will be paid on Monday night (Hasnt happened either) Viking have been dishonest and won’t give our refund back! Therefor we would never cruise or recommend Viking to anyone due to the mistreatment we have experienced. They did offer a $100 on board credit for our next cruise how shocking and rude is that!
