I chose this cruise because it was my wife's 47th birthday and this one fit into her work schedule perfectly. We live in southwest Florida(Naples) and it was a 4 hour drive for us to the port. We loved going through Port Canaveral and we are going to try our cruises from this port in the future. We normally travel from Port Everglades or Miami(nightmare port). We have been on 3 prior Canival cruises(Splendor,Vista,Conquest). Embarkation was fast and easy as we arrived earlier than expected but they allowed us to board the ship earlier than our check in time window. We went straight up to the Lido deck for the lunch buffet and it was surprisingly slow and very easy to find a table. Normally on the first day the Lido deck is packed with people eating and waiting for the rooms to open up at 1:30pm. The food at the buffet and MDR on this cruise was very good. We also tried the seafood shack for an additional fee. We were not impressed by the seafood it was frozen deep fried and not very good. My lobster salad roll was drowning in mayo and I am not 100% sure that it was Maine lobster meat inside?? Anyway we will probably skip it next time. The ship itself has an absolutely beautiful atrium with decorative lights that change color every few seconds. The music on this ship was atrocious. They had a single guitarist playing music in the casino at night and I could hardly keep my eyes open when listening to him. The other bands onboard were not much better. They normally have very good calypso or reggae music onboard but not this ship. It's the first ship that I have been on that they piped country music day and night over the intercoms in the dining areas and hallways?? Really country music on a Bahamas cruise?? Anyway, Our stateroom attendant "Anthony" from the Philippines was excellent and he took real good care of us during the trip. The room was spotless and the ship is holding up very well for an older vessel. We booked two excursions on this trip. The "Discover Atlantis" excursion in Nassau is a waste of money. Next time I will just take the water taxi to Atlantis and go to the casino. I think $70 per person for a basically self guided tour is outrageous and you can save yourself a lot of money by just taking a cab ride over the bridge(2 miles) to Atlantis. The other excursion was a "Bottom Fishing" trip in Freeport which was cancelled but they lied to us on the pier about the reason for the cancellation, They told us it was because of rough seas which I found comical because it was one the calmest days on the ocean that I have ever seen. When we got back to the ship they told us it was because not enough people signed up for the trip and they needed a minimum amount of people to depart. Why the lies?? What's so wrong with telling us the truth?? We have had excursions cancelled before because of lack of interest so why lie about it?? Anyway, We did have a very good time and would recommend this ship even with the small inconveniences that we experienced onboard.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8N

We love the Aft view extended balcony rooms and find they are worth the few extra dollars. It is quiet in the back of the ship. The only noises we heard were the nightclub until around 1am and a couple of very loud rude drunk girls that forgot what room they were staying in and knocked on all the doors until they were told that security was called(That was a first for us). Our stateroom attendant Anthony from the Philippines was excellent and very friendly.
