Our overall impression is one of disappointment. Nothing about the large ship experience can be considered to enhance the customer's enjoyment. Compared to a "small" ship having a guest population of about 1200, our experience on the Majestic Princess included sub-standard food (cool or pre-packaged), and an abyssmal disembarkation experience in Auckland. The day of disembarkation cannot be considered as part of the cruise, as guests are hustled out of their staterooms and off the ship as quickly as possible. The port in Auckland is terrible, too, when it has to accommodate embarking and disembarking passengers simultaneously. THE SHIP IS TOO LARGE!

Staff service is excellent, however. Friendly and attentive, all staff seemed to be doing their utmost. However, there are simply too many people to allow extensive one-to-one service.

The layout of the ship is a bit wonky, too. You can't get to the Allegro dining room on deck 6 by walking on deck 6; you have to travel along deck 7 then descend the stairs. A black spot for the naval architect,
