I've always wanted to take a Viking River Cruise and was finally able to check it off my bucket list this September. I'd heard many great things about them and wasn't disappointed. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, the cabin extremely comfortable. There was always a snack available (a selection of coffees and teas from the beverage station, fresh fruit, fresh cookies) and there was always something going on. The nightly entertainment was pleasant, the selection on the television varied (not that we watched much). I loved the policy of unassigned seating, which gave you a chance to meet other cruisers. We did meet a great couple and had most of our meals together, with a revolving cast of characters each meal. Although we didn't sign on for any of the "special" (additional cost) land tours, all of the tours except one (in Passau) were wonderful and told you a great deal about the port. I would highly recommend this or any Viking River Cruise. The Danube was at historic lows and there was the fear that we might not be able to cruise to each of the ports (Passau, Linz, Krems, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest), they cut short our stop in Bratislava to ensure we could cruise to Budapest because of low water levels. The staff was fantastic and personable and would do anything to enhance your cruise experience. It was a bit expensive but I would definitely go again for a special occasion.
Very clean, surprisingly spacious. The pull out clothesline in the bathroom was a nice touch. I loved the toiletry products.
The tour guide's command of English was lacking. She giggled when she couldn't figure out a word; p.s. she giggled a lot. We ended up walking off the tour and coming back for the organ concert.View All 218 Walking Tour Reviews

Gave a good idea of things we wanted to check back and see when we had free time after the tour. Pointed out cafes and interesting history.View All 183 Walking Tour Reviews
Although we only had about 2 hours in port due to the low levels of the Danube. Since the crew wanted us to be able to get to Budapest by river, the decision was made to cut short Bratislava so we could safely get to Budapest. Less time in port was fine because Bratislava is a small town and we were able to explore on our own before having to get back on the ship.
The city tour just touched the surface of this big, beautiful city but it gave a good taste. We booked an extra night ourselves so we could explore more on our own.View All 353 City Tour Reviews
