While the amenities aboard ship were fine, we cruised on the edge of a cyclone. We completely missed one of the ports due to weather. I cannot believe this is not foreseeable given today's technology. At one point when the captain was turning the ship I was certain it was going to capsize although it probably was not. Shore excursions were very expensive and were not worth the money. Most of them were more than an hour away from the port. The ship's staff worked very hard to accommodate and the restaurants and entertainment were very good. We waited in very long lines to get back on the ship in Rome and Cannes France. While embarkation went smoothly the same cannot be said for disembarkation, it was very unorganized and confusing. The bartenders as a group were very slow and uninspired. There were exceptions, as there was a female bartender in a bar near the casino that was very quick and entertaining.
Our cabin was big enough and well equipped. Lido, our cabin attendant did an outstanding job. He was very responsive to all of our needs.
We really enjoyed our tour of Florence. The Santa Croce basilica was amazing. The quaint small cobblestone streets were beautiful.
Our tour guide was rude and abusive. Some of the people on the tour could not make it on a walk from the parking area to Monte Carlo. She showed them no sympathy and in fact she was rather rude. Monaco was very nice but Monte Carlo was rediculously expensive.
The factory was closed and we essentially went to a pearl store. We were hoping to see the process but could not due to the holiday. This tour should have been cancelled knowing that the factory was closed for the holiday.
