My Halloween costume on Halloween night!
beware of stingrays at coco Cay they are everywhere, near the Bungalo beac
another stingray. They are used to people but I would hate to step on one.

I am DIAMOND on RCI. This is my 12th cruise on RC, all previously on larger ships like Freedom of the seas and Oasis Class ships. I was not excited about this ship but my girlfriends wanted to do a girls cruise for Halloween. I had a cabin to myself which I had to pay double, I think that is totally ridiculous. I upgraded for $100 more from deck 3 ocean view to a large oceanview on deck 8, with the large windows. I always get a balcony and just didn't want to pay $1000 for that room for 4 nights, which I regretted because I missed the balcony. That's one of my favorite things on a cruise is to just look out from the balcony at the sea, stars, etc. I learned my lesson to never book a room directly underneath the pool deck. I had earplugs in and every night very late or early depending on your perspective of time but around 3 or 4 am I heard loud noises from above of decks being cleaned and furniture being slid across the deck. Every night. And some nights it sounded like a heard of elephants running above my head. The room was OK, seemed a bit dark even with the large window. The room was good size, #8104. The bathroom was very small and the first I have had with shower curtain vs the plastic tube thing the other ships have. Impossible to take a shower without flooding your entire bathroom. They really need to change that out. My room steward was awesome! This was a Halloween Cruise and the Halloween Party and show by the dancers and singers in the centrum was fantastic! It was amazing. The costumes were incredible, including mine LOL. I was impressed with the food in the main dining room (It was better than Freedom and Oasis lately) however the service at our table of 5 was not great. Took a very long time to get courses. They didn't have the best attitude either which is not typical of RC servers. This ship has a strange layout IMO. I'm used to the Royal Promenade and that just lacked on this ship. The shops on the ship are hidden away on Deck 6 and hard to find, they are small and don't offer a lot of merchandise. The guy working the RC logo shop had the personality of a wet mop! Terrible. They had different watches on sale in the middle there different nights, on Tues night I saw a cute Ann Klein watch I liked but didn't buy it that night. Went back on Wed. night and those were all gone and all they had was Invicta out I asked about the watch from the night before and he said they were all put away for next cruise, could no longer buy it! WHAT?? You don't want to sell a watch? The price was $89 and 30% off which was about $65. I found the same watch on Amazon for $49! Bartenders mostly had bad attitudes with the exception of the Schooner Bar which those guys were awesome. I am diamond and get 3 free drinks nightly from any bar from 5-8:30. I was getting ready to go to the headliner show 8:45 (almost Elton John - he was AWESOME!) and I stopped by the bar on the way in to get my free drink ( I only get one per night, can get 3, I don't drink much) I waited in line, there was a man in front of me, it was 8:25. By the time this rude bartender got to me, he said "You're late, it's 8:31!) Really?? He said "What do you do when you are late for work?" I felt that was very inappropriate, I'm on VACATION, so I said forget it, I really don't need that drink if it comes with a bad attitude. He made it for me anyway after chastising me. WOW. Did I mention I am DIAMOND? I have spent a LOT of money on RC cruises and should be treated better than that. The entertainment and shows were good with the exception of "Don't Stop The Rock" OMG boring, very dated songs. Needs to retire. The C/D Cruisin Susan was great. This ship is showing it's age for sure. The solarium pool has lion head fountains that don't work and some of the ears of the cats/lions are broken off. They advertise that room as being A/C but it felt very hot and stuffy in there. I am glad they are bringing in one of my favorite ships Mariner of the Seas back to P Canaveral to do these short Bahamas cruises, I don't think I would go on Enchantment again. I live 2 hours from P. Canaveral so I try to get my cruises out of there. RC has really declined in many areas over the past 15 years for sure. Not the same at all, but I hear other lines have declined as well. It's a shame. We rented a private Bungalow at CocoCay which was awesome. Just beware of the many sting rays in that area. So many of them. We also saw a small 3-foot shark that came very close to the sand on the beach in very shallow water, they said it was a nurse shark, there were several out there.
