My wife and I are long time RCCL cruisers. We are Diamond status and are always happy with RCCL. We booked this cruise because one of our cruising buddies was having a birthday while on board. After watching the price, we ended up booking interior state room #3155 expecting a normal interior stateroom like we enjoyed on numerous occasions. By the time we got into our room after muster and waiting for our other traveling companions we had to quickly get ready for dinner. We did notice a pole/pipe in the room near the bed but because we were rushing we didn't stop to analyze it. Actually joked about it. Then when we returned to the room late that evening it was quite apparent that this pole hindered getting into the bed and also severely obstructed the view of the TV. Hmmm …. what do we do about this at this late hour. Immediately before breakfast the next morning, we went to Guest Services and complained. No rooms available to move us to. We complained that a room like this needed full disclosure before the guest accepted it because of the pole, obstruction and difficulty getting in and out of bed. Then we advised them about the constant squeak all night that ear buds and the pillow over our heads slightly deafened. Guest Services said they would investigate. Our room attended advised us that a Supervisor had come to our room and our sweet attended asked us if we were mad at him. We assured him that we weren't and asked if he put the pole in the room. He said NO and actually admitted that it made it very difficult for him to make up the bed. We laughed with him and said if you had put it there then we'd be mad at you. A day goes by without any contact from Guest Services. Finally we get a call on the next to the last day asking us if we wanted to be moved to another room. We said NO because we were already thru more than half the cruise. They said they had been trying to reach us but we were never in our room. Dah … this is a cruise after all. We asked why they didn't leave a message on the phone. No reply to that question. They said they left us two notes outside our door to contact them. No notes. Finally, after much conversation they gave us a discount towards our next cruise and their apologies. Lesson learned … when booking a cruise ASK questions about your stateroom. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

Overall, entertainment was good, the singer Lou Gazzara, was the best. The casino was smoker smelly and a turn off. The food in fine dining was great and Windjammer is always consistently good. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
