I sailed this cruise on November 4th. I made the most of a bad situation and had a good time despite the many quirks. I wouldn't go NCL again, I'll stick with Royal Caribbean. I'm a young 45 and my guest is 40. The crowd was older and often the dance floors were empty. Talk about boring!

It was difficult to find a quiet space on the ship to read since 5,000 people were confirmed to be on it. When I did find a quiet spot (right outside the doors on the 17th floor) a pipe burst above my head and water started pouring out of the ceiling. The couple in the chairs in front of me hightailed it out of there. I went to my room and started crying. Seeing water gushing onto the floor of a ship brings back memories of the Titanic and it racked my nerves.

Embarkation was very easy, however, once on the ship they try to shuttle everyone to the 16th floor buffet for lunch. They know they don't have seating for 5,000 people in the buffet so why they do this I don't know. My partner and I circled for 10 minutes with full plates and couldn't find seating so I dumped my plate and left. O'Sheehan's had originally said there was a 20 minute wait but when we ditched the buffet and went back to O'Sheehan's we were seated immediately.

Cabin Review

Mid-ship Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin OB

I hated my room setup! The doors to the window rooms were so near each other you could literally bump your neighbor when going in and out of the room. Oh, and there was a massive pole right outside my front door. If I had a cane, wheelchair, crutches or was 10 pounds bigger, forget about it! I'd have to ask for a different room. The toilet flushing was always delayed by 5 minutes. When you're on a cruise the last thing you want is a toilet that doesn't flush when you press the button. What the hell? Oh, and this is big for me...there were no outlets near the bed! That means you can't charge your cellphone near the bed or check the time. This is 2018!!! In fact, there's only two outlets in the entire cabin and they're right next to each other. (None in the bathroom.) There's a desk but no paper or seating. The cabin steward never introduced himself like on Royal so we were never really sure who he was.

Also, this is a small thing but my friend got me the birthday package in the room. I love that on Royal they put the Happy Birthday banner on the outside of your door (it's a conversation piece between neighbors.) NCL just has it on the inside. I didn't like the cake (too sweet) and apparently you couldn't choose cake flavors. $40.
