This cruise was recommended to us by our travel agent as it was more of a experience especially as we have not done any cruises before. Only about 500 people on board which for us was ideal. No real entertainment, just beautiful scenery and education about the area. Excursions were ok - we like to be active so the bus trips around town hold no appeal. We did enjoy the hikes. They do some fun things like celebrate the crossing of the arctic circle and folk dancing. Stops in each port are short as this cruise line is also a functioning car and goods ferry, which means stops at all times of the night. This was not an issue for us on deck 8 but it may be noisy on the right hand side of the ship on decks 4 and 6.

Dinner was only in 2 seatings 6pm and 8pm and unfortunately for us we were 8pm with no option to swap into 6pm for at least some of the nights. One night they changed it to 830pm to fit in with an excursion.

Public areas were ok although the front section was taken everyday by the older travellers (about 70% were over 60) who grabbed the seats with jackets like towels on lounges around a pool!

Cabin Review

Cabin One below suite

Cabin was small but had everything we needed, including television and tea/ coffee facilities. Was on the top deck for cabins and with most of the suites which meant it was quiet with not many cabins. Quick access to observation deck on 9 without having to go through the smokers was a bonus. Deck 8 is also the first to disembark which was fantastic.
