Itinerary included nine Caribbean ports of call. Plus it presented opportunities for sightseeing in two very interesting cities: New York City and New Orleans, both highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the first day of the cruise was marred by the 12+ hours embarkation delay arising from a medical emergency and search for a cargo ship crew member, as well as strong currents and adverse weather approaching NYC.. NCL's lack of communication of these events to its passengers was totally unacceptable. Thousands of passengers, both on the previous cruise and those of us waiting at the pier to embark were left to wonder what was going on and how much longer would we have to wait to get on. And then to schedule the life boat drill at 3:00 am, really?

Due to the delay, we had to miss our first port, San Juan. NCL has refused to refund the port charges to the passengers. NCL did add to our on-board accounts $75 for the cost of Day 1 lunch and dinner, plus 1/15th of the cruise fare (ex. port fees)
