As it was a new ship we thought we would see what it was like. Cabins much smaller than on other smaller ships in the fleet. Our balcony was too small for us to sit on. We had a mini suite & are still waiting to be greeted by our cabin steward & receive our complimentary glass of bubbly. Food, service, entertainment very average. When the CEO boarded the ship in Auckland parts of the ship were closed to the passengers so private functions could be held, e.g indoor pool, Chinese Restaurant, to name just two areas. My mother, who is 84 yrs old, was refused access to the toilet as it was for use only by those attending the private function. She was told to walk all the way to mid ships & use the one there. However the service did rise from very average to excellent, which was really needed. Toilets are very hard to locate on the ship. Rubbish bins are lacking everywhere. Smoking areas are out in the open. The one show we actually managed to see, due to not enough seating. we had seen on a previous cruise. The ship does not have a promenade deck. The shops on board are very high end, Gucci etc so they are catering for the rich passengers. Not enough seating in the Atrium. I could go on & on with what is wrong with this ship. It boils down to them having too many passengers, not enough crew & trying to squeeze it all in with really expanding the ship. Will be looking at another company for our cruising in future as many, many other seasoned Princess passengers has said also.
