We wanted a nice week away with a fun schedule, and RCI Adventure of the Sea fit the bill. It is a lovely ship but she is showing her age. We had a large rust spot in our room right up against the carpet and balcony door. Other issues that brought the rating down: it became the second time in a row sailing that we had to walk the halls looking for our luggage. All pieces each had two pieces of RCI info clearly showing stateroom and name yet twice now they haven’t found their way to our room. We had a 8 night restaurant add on, one of the nights we were going to Chops. When we showed up at our reservation time we were told someone showed up late and we were going to have to wait in the Schooner Bar. I was furious that because of someone’s lack of timing I would have to wait to eat and they didn’t offer to pay for a drink or two. We left in frustration and had a wonderful meal at Johnny Rockets with great service. There was a time change during cruise and did not find out until the morning after it had taken place. Isn’t the Compass newsletter the night prior exactly where you would expect that information? After paying for Use of Vroom, their were days were you could not access it - very annoying. Another complaint was there never seemed like there were enough drink waiters. We were going to the bar ourselves the most on this one! Last complaint and I do not believe it was a fault of RCI, upon disembarkation the escalator was not working. People were forced to use the elevator, standing on the sides in small numbers or carry your luggage down on your own. Not a great way to say goodbye.
I do want to be clear that the staff of Adventure were friendly and did their best to be helpful.
I enjoy Royal Caribbean and after all my complaints I still believe in them.
Wonderful size, a great walk in closet. Plenty of storage space. Enjoyed the look of the bathroom even if it was showing it’s age. Enjoyed being on the bump out of the side. Only complaint would be the large rust spot inside the room next to carpet against sliding door. Lovely decor.
A wonderful tour operator, not as colorful as other snorkeling excursions.
Beautiful sights and knowledgeable, friendly guide.
Gorgeous island.
Wonderful way to see the island, guide passed along basic history. We were treated to drinks and a sugar cane treat. We also expierenced singing by a group of talented young ladies. There is a tradition for the locals to wave to the tourist on the train and they do so with smiles and vigor.
