I hadn't sailed with Norwegian before and liked the itinerary, which originally sailed from Los Angeles to Miami through the Panama canal. I liked the choice of ports as well. This disappeared from the schedule, so I checked other sailings and chose one that was similar- sailing from Los Angeles, but ending up in Tampa. This had Acapulco as one of the ports and I wanted to visit there again. I booked a mini-suite on this cruise
I booked flights from the UK to match this booking when they came available. A week or so afterwards I received an email from Norwegian stating that the cruise was changing and now would depart from San Diego, rather than LA and would be a day shorter. Acapulco was a port that was dropped. Having booked the flights and some other items, I decided to stick with the reservation and hire a car and drive from LA to San Diego to catch the cruise.
Annoying, but the flights were expensive
I chose this cabin because it was under the card room and library and fancied having a bath. I also chose it because for the first half of the cruise it would have the sun in the afternoon. I looked at videos online before embarking and was worried that it wouldn't be very nice, but it was. Finished to a high standard, Very roomy with plenty of storage, even for my overpacking! A good shower over the bath, separate lavatory cubicle. The bath was a little narrow
Only things I would quibble about are the sofabed, which we only used as a sofa, was very uncomfortable. They don't need to be so. The mattresses too weren't comfortable, a bit stained and with nothing between that and the sheet. The pillows seemed to be of the cheapest quality. I knew there was a reason I brought my own as a rule. There was a lot of flaking paint on the balcony, which was vacuumed away daily
The cabin was kept clean, but was often serviced after lunch, which seemed rather late.
It was very quiet, which was what I wanted
