had nothing to do and wanted to get away from family for thanksgiving, so took son on a cruise. getting on was a breeze and a lot of very friendly people were at the cruise port to check us in.
you ain't gonna travel with the people in the sales brochure. granted, for these prices you get what you pay for. baby with no diaper in pool, 600 slow moving scooters, smart casual(if adhered to) means a clean t shirt with no relish stains from mcdonalds. if i spent many thousands on this cruise expecting gentrified shipmates i probably would have escaped in aruba. we coined the daily movement at the lido restaurant as the lido shuffle, an odd quarter step dance moving aimlessly, constantly changing direction but moving very slowly. not that most guest were not kind and mostly friendly, as was the crew.
always ate in the dining room for dinner which was was not as bad as some people have written.. son had steak every night and it was not bad. very friendly staff exect for a few.
