The Carnival Pride is my favorite ship and not just because she conveniently docks in Baltimore. I love the layout and the variety of public areas. (I've spent a total of 45 nights across five cruises on her now.)

With venues like the Card Room, Library, Chapel and Sunset Garden, you can always find a quite place to sit.

I have always been pleased with the service on the Pride. And, on the relaxation front, I like that there are both indoor and outdoor hot tubs.

Cabin 4K

This was our second time staying in an Interior French Door cabin in the Pride, and we really like this category of room. You pay the inside rate, but still get some light from the outside and can open your door for some fresh air.

Port Reviews

Aruba

We love Aruba. We just walk around downtown on our own after a quick visit to Dunkin Donuts for a cup of coffee. (My husband is from New England, so he gets Dunkin withdrawals.

There is a trolley you can take from one end of the shopping area to the other. It runs on a street parallel to the shore, one or two blocks back.

We strongly suggest checking out Mopa Mopa to see their art form. It really is quite beautiful.

Grand Turk

Grand Turk is a lovely small island. At seven miles long by two miles wide, you are never very far from the ship.

On your first visit, I suggest an island tour. It will only take a couple hours and leave some time available to look around the port or hit the beach.

Curacao

Curacao is another lovely island. It's an easy walk through the fort shopping area and across the floating bridge to the main shopping area. Lots of stores and restaurants from which to choose.

Barbados

Barbados is a great country/island. Right outside the port is an artist area, or you can take a long walk (or short cab ride) downtown.

While in Barbados, make sure you get the flying fish!!

St. Lucia

St. Lucia can be a little overwhelming if you go out by yourself. As you are exiting the secure port area you will be swarmed by folks offering excursions and taxi rides, or trying to sell you something. The are very zealous in their efforts.

Once you get a block away this abates. And, we found everyone else to be charming and kind.

Downtown Castries isn't much to look at, but the island as a while is just beautiful.

St. Maarten

We love St. Maarten. We have only ever been to the Dutch side. But really like it. You will need to take either a water taxi or a regular taxi to downtown from the pier. But neither is costly. Downtown is charming, particularly if you head a little away from the tourist stores.

Tip: We highly suggest Grand Jewelers in St. Maarten. The first time I shopped there I got a ring and a pair if earrings. When I got home to the States, I had them appraised for insurance, and the ring alone appraised at more than I paid for both pieces.
